Randy Mattingley

Director of Tennis

 

At the age of 15, Randy began playing tennis on February 15, 1971. In three short years, he earned a full scholarship to Tyler Junior College where he finished top 10 in the nation and the team finish 3rd nationally. Continuing at Houston Baptist University, Randy had numerous wins over other NCAA Division I players at the #1 position.  He travelled to various satellite tour events and reached the qualifying round of an ATP doubles championship. Randy has also held numerous #1 rankings in the Texas Section and nation rankings in singles and doubles.

 

Randy has actively served in the tennis industry serving on the USTA Texas Section Management Committee and on the USPTA Texas board, 3 years as president.  He has served on the USPTA National board for the 14 years and 1st Vice President for 4 of those years.

 

Randy began as a Director of Tennis at Shady Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas holding that position for 14 years. He also served as the Director of Tennis at the University Club in Houston and Lubbock Country Club before joining The Clubs of Kingwood in 2008.

 

Randy has received numerous awards including the 1992 Texas Player of the Year, 1994 Texas Professional of the Year, 1996 Texas Special Service Award, inducted into the Tyler Junior College Sports Hall of Fame in 2012, and is a USPTA MASTER Professional. In 2014, Randy was select as the USPTA Texas Pro of the Year for the second time and received the national 2014 USPTA Pro of the Year.
